FAQs
-
Though no prior coaching experience is necessary, we recommend applying once you’ve completed at least 20 ice baths or cold showers to build up a base-line tolerance.
Previous coaching experience will come in handy, but all are welcome.
-
We focus on experience-driven learning — not just theory. Instead of reading from slides + listening to us talk at you, we’ll spend our time together applying what yo’ve learned in real time + gaining hands-on coaching experience. We guide you to develop your unique coaching style, so you can lead from a place of authenticity.
-
You’ll receive a certificate of completion, but our time together doesn’t stop at the end of the weekend.
In order to become a Level 1 ICA Coach, you’ll have to complete practice hours, report back on your personal practice, pass the online exam, and complete a digital practical exam with one of your instructors.
We do this to ensure you have the momentum and motivation to continue on your journey, post-certification.
-
Once your application is approved, we’ll send over your handbook so you can begin to read through that if it’s your style, or you can save it for after our time together.
We’ll also send our list of recommended reading, but you don’t need to cram.
We’d ask you to get consistent with your movement, breath work + cold exposure because it’s important to walk the walk.
-
Yes, each of our courses builds on the previous one, so it’s important you come into the higher level courses with the same knowledge as your peers.
We’re dedicated to making each level of our academy unique and beneficial in it’s own way, so you can expect to learn so much more each time we meet.
-
Not at the moment — we value face time and believe that in order to most effectively coach, you’ll have to get your reps in doing that.
