Quick Dips
Consistency is key + to get the most out of your cold exposure practice.
Plunge on your own time with our self-guided dips.
Start with Your Introductory Session —
Regardless of your plunging experience, the Introductory Session is required before you can plunge on your own.
During this session, you will go over how to enter the building during your bookings, how to unlock the tub, best practices + then you will of course, plunge!
After completing this first session, you will be cleared to book Quick Dips.
*Note: This tub remains outside all year round.
What to Expect:
-
It is recommended that you complete 11 minutes of cold exposure per week
2 to 4 sessions
lasting 1-5 minutes each
As noted by Dr. Huberman based on the research of Dr. Susanna Søberg
-
Quick Dips can be scheduled from 6AM-10PM Monday through Friday.
Each booking provides 15-minutes of access to the tub.
-
The tub is set to 48°F or 8.8°C.
It is recommended you complete 3 to 6 minutes for 1 to 2 exposures.
How to Prepare:
-
Two separate appointments can be booked during each 15-minute slot — so if you have a friend you’ll like to plunge with (as long as they book themselves in as well), you two can chill together!
If you’re on your own, you’ll simply text us when you arrive + when you’ve completed your dips — so we know all went well.
-
Bathing suit or tight-fitting activewear
Towel
Flip flops or slides are nice, but not required
Comfy outfit to wear home
Bag to place your wet suit/clothes into before popping in your bag
*Note: There are no showers on-site, but we have large changing rooms.
-
You did it!
You’ll be quite hungry, so plan to have a nourishing meal within 1 hour of completing your plunge.
Hot shower or not to hot shower? It’s up to how you feel + what your goals are. If you find yourself craving the warmth — go for it. Taking a hot shower is not going to negate the benefits, but you will miss out on the calorie (namely fat) burn that allowing your body to heat up on its own, will provide. With experience, you’ll be able to discern the times when you need a hot shower vs. don’t.
Post-ice euphoira is a lovely state to be in — we recommend you take the opportunity to connect, with yourself or others. Journaling, meditating, taking a walk or having a conversation are all great ways to reconnect.
We recommend staying away from work/screens for a bit if possible. If you find yourself on Tiktok, you’ll likely scroll for 4 hours, though it’ll feel like 5 minutes.
Our best advice — listen to your body!
More Ice,
More Life
